aMSN is Windows Messenger for Linux user. If you us Windows OS and MSN Messenger before, you can still use your account in aMSN.
I assume that you have an account in MSN already. To use it, just download from the internet, key in your username and password and that’s it, you can start to chat.
You can set the setting to be auto login at the time you start or just enter it manually.
Installation
From Ubuntu Terminal screen (Applications > Accessories > Terminal), type:

hi everybody, wish you good day, well I’m a new user to this great thing called Ubuntu but as you know, for the beginner like me will face a lot of problem, in my case i don’t know how to install the msn, yahoo and some other applications so, kindly help me by showing me the shortcut to make this go true ? and secondly i just want to know how to install the windows media player or vlc something like this . thank you for your great time and also for understanding my case, for more informations plz don’t hesitate here you are my email :smart2003man@hotmail.com
- First you must have an internet connection.
- Second, set your Repository to Main Server (the easy way). Click System > Administration > Software Sources, Mark all boxes and select ‘Main Server’ at ‘Download from’.
- Third update the system (from Ubuntu terminal, type).
$sudo apt-get update
$sudo apt-get upgrade
$sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
- Now, you are ready to install any programs just what I’ve mentioned above.
For VLC, you can use:
$sudo apt-get install vlc
For yahoo, you can use Pidgin (included in Ubuntu Gutsy and above).
For skype, you can follow my articles about skype.

Lalu pada bagian “Download from” pilih ”Main Server”.
Lalu buka linux terminal, update ubuntunya:
$sudo apt-get update
$sudo apt-get upgrade
$sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
$sudo apt-get install build-essential
Nah, di coba lagi sekarang.
