You want to impress your friends with temporary Main screen with your own “Search screen”. I said temporary, because it’s only the one display, when you key in your ’search key’ then it will go back to Google again.

Google Desktop is web based search data application. Although it’s still in beta version for Linux but I think it’s very useful for us to find any informations that stay in our computer.
Step 1. Download the package
Go to http://desktop.google.com/linux/ and click ‘Download Google Desktop‘ to download the program.The file size is 7.5MB.
Choose Debian/Ubuntu format.

Picasa is an free pictures organizer from Google. Now it’s available for Linux. You can create Web Album, Email, Print, Blog, Collage (It’s cool), Export (resize & change the quality) to a new file.
