May be you all both use newer version of Ubuntu and different repository that may cause the problem.

Or, have to you tried to update the your system first before install the program?
In your Linux Terminal, run the commands below:
$sudo apt-get install build-essential
$sudo apt-get update
$sudo apt-get upgrade
$sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Then try, to re-install the KDE helper.
