The vCard works pretty well, but there are several fields (such as the address) which get foobared. I actually created an “awk” script which massages the vcf file so that, if the address is in a standard enough format, it will mostly translate into street/city/state/zip format that Evolution can interpret.

But, from the Import menu, there are few types you can import.
These are:
- Barkeley Mailbox (mbox)
- vCalendar files(.vcf)
- iCalendar files (.icf)
- Evolution CSV or TAB (.csv, .tab)
- Mozilla CSV or TAB (.csv, .tab)
- Outlook CSV or TAB (.csv, .tab)
- Vcard (.vcf, .gcrd)
- LDAP Data Interchange Format (.ldif)
