I had a problem in that my Dial-Up Networking channel was initially 5, but then it changed to 2. I was stumped for a few hours, re-pairing, rebooting the phone, restarting DBUS and Bluetooth services on the computer, turning Bluetooth on and off, etc… until I slept a woke up with the idea that maybe the channel changed.

Sure enough, I used “sdptool browse” and the DUN channel was now 2. Just a heads up if anyone reading has problems connecting: make sure the channel specified in rfcomm.conf is correct!
