When you install games for KDE in Ubuntu (Gnome) and then you search for a guidelines in the game help, you will get “Could not find service ‘khelpcenter’”. Because, you don’t have KDE Help Center in your gnome. This program have to be installed separately.

very good presentation on how to get a program installed
You need to help some of the magazine writers to make themselves clear. Many times I have tried some things that I read about and they did not work as stated. Thank you.
I did the above but none of the other dialog boxes came up and I still get the same error message “Could not launch the KDE help Center……”
I’m in the same situation as Ken. The output in konsole was as described, but no prompts.
I use Gutsy with ‘main server’ as my repository.
May be you all both use newer version of Ubuntu and different repository that may cause the problem.
Or, have to you tried to update the your system first before install the program?
In your Linux Terminal, run the commands below:
$sudo apt-get install build-essential
$sudo apt-get update
$sudo apt-get upgrade
$sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Then try, to re-install the KDE helper.
I like it
taufanlubis@toshiba:~$ sudo apt-get install khelpcenter
seems to be a fine way to give you administrative rights … otherwise I can’t complain.
