Before I start, I assume that you have installed K3b in your system and it recognizes your DVD writer. And if you don’t, you can read my articles about how to install the K3b in here.
Step 1. Click New Project
Writing Data to a DVD (DVD burning) is not difficult with K3b. Enter your empty write-able DVD disc into your DVD Writer. From the K3b main menu, just click ‘New Data DVD Project‘.
A new project screen will show up.
On the top left are directories in your computer and on the right is the directory content.
On the below left screen is the project directory. You can change it with another name.
And on the below right is the empty directory. This is the place where you will put all your files. You can rename ‘K3b data project’ to another name. In this sample, I changed it to ‘PSP Games’.
Step 2. Select and paste the files into project directory.
Now, select any directories or files that you want to copy. I will copy all my data from ‘Temp’ directory. I just select the files and drag it into ‘PSP Games’ directory content (on the right below).
The status bar with a green color shows the amount of files that you will write into your DVD.
If you use a double layer DVD writer, the default size is 8GB. The problem is, It will not recognizes your DVD capacity.
In this sample I use start DVD disc, so it’s only 4.7GB something. But, it still recognized as 8GB capacity. So, as long as you know your DVD capacity then it will be no problem. Otherwise it will produce an error like in here.
To start burning process, just click ‘Burn’ button above ‘PSP Games’ directory.
This is the ‘Data Project’ screen, just use the default and click ‘Burn’ button to start the burning process.
Burning process is done. Click ‘Close’ button to to finish the current project.
This is very up-to-date information. I think I’ll share it on Twitter.
Thanks for the tutorial, but what format do the files have to be in? Do they go in the “Video_TS” folder?
