AXIS is one many GSM providers available in Indonesia. I will show you how to setup internet connection with Axis and Nokia 5320 express music.
How to setup?
First, you have to setup the wvdial.conf file. You can use your Linux terminal or edit it with any text editor. In this article, I will use ‘vim’ because for me it’s very simple and easy to use.
Open your Linux Terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal) then type: ‘sudo vim /etc/wvdial.conf‘.
Then type the configuration below:
The Baud value will be depend on your mobile phone. Usually the phone will only GPRS speed will have around 230000.
Save the file and Quit (type :wq from vim).
Before you start to test the connection, make sure you check few things below:
-Set the access point in your mobile phone. (In Nokia 5320 express music, go to Settings>Phone Sett.>Connection>Packet data>set access point to ‘axis‘).
-Turn any available network interface. (Check using ifconfig. If the eth1 is on, turn off using command $sudo ifconfig eth0 down’).
-Connect the data cable from PC to your mobile phone. (Select USB mode to ‘PC Suite’).
Now, you can try the connection by typing ‘sudo wvdial’ command. You will have DNS ip address if you are succees.
Now, you can test the connection.
Wah, insya’Allah artikelnya bermanfaat sekali mas taufan π

My conection works perfect with the n80, but not with the cable, and my configuration is like you have listed bellow.
I’ve also checked the eth0 and turned it off, but when as root I put the command “$ sudo wvdial” in the ubuntu terminal appear this message:
